YSL Rouge Volupté Lipstick in No. 1 Nudge Beige – £23.50

This week’s ‘Blast From The Past’ or BFTP that I might so elegantly start calling this feature, pays homage to a piece of cosmetic luxury. The YSL Rouge Volupté lipstick. If you want class, luxury and price then look no further then YSL. But then if you also want intense moisturise with great colour payoff and selection then you have still come to the right place. Parting with your hard earned cash will be hard but boy will it be worth it! I bought my first YSL lipstick back in September 2011 (I still have the blog post floating around on the interwebz to show it!) and I started off with a much brighter selection No. 13 Peach Passion. However, I quickly returned to pick up it’s nudey counterpart Nude Beige. A year ago these lipsticks cost £22 but already they have jumped up to £23.50. Would I repurchase another one at this price? Well considering the way this lipstick is going and how much I use it this might happen sooner rather then later!

These lipsticks glide onto your lips like velvet and, although a little be streaky on a unprimed lip, they provide pretty intense colour whilst remaining moisturising and soft. When I first bought this lipstick I could hardly put it down but then as with most of my other cosmetics it got pushed aside for a new limited edition lipstick. It would flit back onto my lips a couple of days a month but recently it has become a permeant fixture. I have been reaching for my YSL Nudge Beige instead of any of my more drying MAC lipsticks and when I want to inject a bit of colour I pick up the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 69 Flirt (which I have also rekindled my love for!)

Sometimes a girl just needs to treat themselves to a bit of luxury and there isn’t many things that look more luxurious then this. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Do you need to ask? :P
