Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Oil Free

The Laura Mercier Foundation Primer is something that I picked up in a Space.NK splurge a few weeks ago. At £28 it isn’t the cheapest primer on the market but it has numerous good things said about it and after being put on my skin during a makeover I couldn’t resist. This foundation primer is available in; Oil Free, Radiance, Hydrating, Mineral and Standard so whatever your skin type or desired makeup finish there is a primer that will suit you. The standard primer was used on me during the makeover and made my skin feel amazing, however being the combo and blemish prone girl that I am reached for the oil free version just to be on the safe side and prevent any excess oil or shine throughout the summer days.

What I love about this primer is that it feels so hydrating and moisturising on my skin. The application and consistency of the primer is more akin to a moisturiser then any other primers that I have tried before however, it still gives the same great priming and makeup lasting benefits. I apply this primer to my face after my morning skincare routine and after I have applied my moisturiser. I use a pea sized amount and concentrate the product on my t-zone and areas where I am more likely to loose makeup quicker. This primer settles in quickly into my skin without leaving any residue or unevenness.

This primer has been a saviour during the warmer days and even on days that are not sweltering I find this primer is great at helping my foundation, or mineral foundation stay in place throughout the working day. I do still get a bit of an attack of the nose shine around lunchtime but I find that this is more down to my skincare routine and something that I need to stop being so paranoid about! I have really enjoyed using this product recently and it has become a staple item in my makeup routine.

Do you use a primer in the mornings? Which is your favourite one to reach for?

It is off-putting but considering the Benefit Porefessional is pretty price too they all seem to be around this price xx

I’m on the lookout for a new primer and this sounds promising but the price makes it a bit risky! May have to take the plunge though! xx

I’m currently using Smashbox primer, but as soon as I will run out I will defiantly give this a go. As I also really liked it when the lady had applied this too me. x

Yeah primers can be pretty pricey. If you find a good one that works well on your skin they are worth investing in!xx

I could not get on with this one! It clearly hates Mac Pro Longwear. The new Estée Lauder one is on my list now :)

I’ve wanted to try this for the longest time! I usually hate primers because I have very dry skin and find that they dry out my skin even more :( but I’ve heard this one doesn’t do that, so I may have to give this one a go!
