I have a secret to share – I am a glasses wearer! Although my frames are something I actually quite like I am naughty when it comes to my glasses and never wear them enough. I have been recommended contact lenses quite a few times but they never have been something that I have tried out.
Aesthetically, glasses have come a long way since the huge, wide rimmed spectacles of a few decades past. Whilst once those who wore glasses were ridiculed for their appearance, nowadays even those who don’t struggle with their vision are opting to wear frames with clear lenses for the look rather than the function. Frames come in many different thicknesses, sizes, colours and shapes, but there are still certain situations where you may wish to have a bare face.
There is substantial difference between wearing and not wearing glasses; glasses hugely alter your overall look because they can take over your face, detracting attention away from features such as your eyes lying behind them. In some situations many people who wear glasses on an everyday basis may opt to switch into contacts for the aesthetic benefits, for example whilst playing sports or on a night out. The number one situation where this may be necessary is on your wedding day – not all brides will want to walk down the aisle wearing specs!
If you do decide that you would rather have a bare face on that big day and banish the glasses (although of course you still want to be able to see!) then contact lenses are a valuable investment. You can even just purchase daily lenses, so that you can wear them for the duration of the ceremony or celebration and then switch back to your familiar glasses. You may even surprise yourself and find that you like wearing contacts so much that you want to do it on a more regular basis. A whole range of contact lenses, even included coloured lenses to completely change your look can be found on http://www.getlenses.co.uk/ Even if you have never tried wearing contacts before, it’s never too late to give it a shot. Contacts aren’t for everyone, and some never manage to take to wearing them all the time or even often as they can be irritable or even painful. However, there’s no harm in finding out for yourself!
