L’Oreal L’Or Electric Collection

l'oreal_l'or_electric_collection
last week i attended the l’oreal press night for their new l’or electric collection. alongside having a girly chinway with gem, charli and yu we managed to sneak in some all important swatching time to see the collection up close and personal. this launch celebrates l’oreal paris being the official sponsor for the makeup of cannes film festival for the past 15 years. now you might be able to tell that the colours look a bit bright and bold for standard l’oreal colours but this is because they were inspired by the 80s and fluorescent colours. what stands out about this collection is that each product is dual-tone so it is meant to look different in different lights.the collection is made up of:
3 nail varnishes at £4.99 each
3 colour riche lipsticks at £8.16 each (that also include omega 3 oils and vitamin e to keep you lips lusciously moisturised!)
2 la couleur eyeshadows at £6.99 eachnow from first impressions the collection didn’t exactly wow me. the colours, although bright, looked a bit dull and there was nothing i would immediately reach for. the magic however happens in the swatching.

from left to right – prismatic pink (404), magnetic coral (407) and electric fuchsia (402)
the prismatic pink was a lot sheerer then i imagined and provides more of a soft pink sheen to the lips. magnetic coral although quite a red based coral is still pretty on and the electric fuchsia is nowhere near as bright or dark then i thought it would be!

the stand out product to me are the eyeshadows (okay not the orange one quite so much :P)

magnetic coral is a burnt orange shade which you can smoke out with a brown but like i said not a could i would be rushing to put on. the one that i love is that sparkly one at the bottom. metallic lilac. this has flecks or purple throughout and is a beautiful purply grey colour. one that i can see me grabbing for the next time i do my makeup for a night out!

although upon first impressions this collection doesn’t immediately bowl you over give it a chance and you might find some great gems =)

collection is due to hit stores later in may!
